The Story
Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen recently sat down with CNBC to talk about the company's partnership with Google's Bard, and how generative AI is transforming the creative industry. He recounted a personal anecdote about how he first became interested in AI, and how it has since become a core part of Adobe's strategy.
"I remember the first time I saw a computer create a piece of music," Narayen said. "It was mind-blowing to see this machine generate melodies and harmonies that were truly unique and original. As an artist myself, I was fascinated by the idea of collaborating with an intelligent machine to create something truly new and innovative."
Narayen went on to explain how Adobe's partnership with Google's Bard is bringing this dream to life. The two companies have been working together to develop a new class of generative AI tools that can assist creatives in their work, from creating music to designing visual content. These tools are designed to "augment human creativity" rather than replace it, Narayen emphasized.
