The new AI-based technology will support the company in enhancing customer service offerings and improving communication between customers and the company.

This announcement has come amidst a saturated market of AI virtual assistants such as Siri, Alexa, and Google Assistant, which are actively used for voice recognition and machine learning-based applications. However, China Telecom's ChatGPT-like service aims to provide a unique and innovative solution to the customer support industry by offering users with tailored conversations and additional information based on their needs.

Due to increasing demand for smarter and more personalized engagement with customers, several companies worldwide are exploring ChatGPT-like solutions to cater to their consumers' needs. One such example is Microsoft, which recently launched its AI chatbot, Xiaoice, for Chinese customers. The bot can simulate realistic conversations with consumers through text, voice, and images, and also has a vast knowledge base of topics such as movies, music, and general trivia.
