It was a beautiful day for golf as Bemidji High School's girls golf team competed at the Staples Invite on Saturday. The birds were singing, the sun was shining, and the golfers were ready to take on the course.
As the day went on, the competition got tougher and the pressure grew for each golfer. However, Bemidji's team was up for the challenge. They played their hearts out and gave it their all, resulting in a third place finish overall.
Individually, two of Bemidji's golfers stood out, tying for eighth place in the tournament. Both Emma Larson and Rachel Schulke played phenomenally, each with a score of 87.
It was an impressive feat, considering there were 60 golfers in the tournament. Larson and Schulke's dedication to the sport and hard work paid off in a big way.
Bemidji's success didn't just come down to the two tied for eighth, though. The whole team played well and contributed to their overall third place finish. Their coach was proud of their effort and performance throughout the day.
This tournament was not just a display of golf skills, but also of sportsmanship. Bemidji's team treated their competitors and the officials with respect and dignity throughout the day, exemplifying what it means to be both a good athlete and a good person.
