Bob has been in charge of hiring new employees for his company for the past 10 years. It's always been a daunting task, as he receives hundreds of resumes and cover letters for each job posting. In the past, he would have to spend hours reading through each one, trying to determine who would be a good fit for the company. This process was time-consuming and often led to him missing out on potentially great candidates.
One day, Bob's company decided to implement an artificial intelligence (AI) system to assist with the hiring process. This system would scan resumes and cover letters, looking for keywords and qualifications that matched the job posting. It would then generate a list of candidates that matched the criteria, allowing Bob to focus on reviewing a smaller pool of applicants.
Within weeks, Bob noticed a significant improvement in the quality of candidates he was able to interview. The AI system had identified candidates that he may have overlooked in the past, and he was able to quickly and easily schedule interviews with them. Overall, the hiring process was streamlined and much more efficient.
According to a survey conducted by LinkedIn, 76% of hiring managers believe that AI will have a significant impact on how they recruit in the future. In addition, 56% of talent acquisition leaders said that AI has already improved their hiring process, reducing time-to-hire and increasing the quality of hires.
A study conducted by Ideal, an AI-powered recruitment software company, found that their system reduced the time-to-hire by 70%. The system was also able to identify top candidates at a rate of 3-4 times higher than a human recruiter.
Another example is Hilton Worldwide, who implemented an AI chatbot named "Connie" to assist with the recruitment process. Connie was able to answer potential candidates' questions about job openings and provide them with more information about the company. The chatbot was able to handle up to 200 conversations per day, freeing up HR staff to focus on other tasks.
